Lighthouse General Insurance Company Limited and Lighthouse Life Assurance Company Limited were both incorporated on the 22nd of July 2004 in Gibraltar, where they are managed and regulated.

By virtue of its status as a self-governing territory of the United Kingdom, Gibraltar adopts all European Union Life and Non-Life Insurance Directives, including those relating to EU solvency and minimum guarantee fund requirements.

Its Finance Centre has a world-class reputation and is regulated by the Financial Services Commission (FSC- http://www.fsc.gi). In 1997, following an audit by the United Kingdom Review Team, the UK confirmed that Gibraltar’s supervisory regime for insurance matched the standards of supervision in place in the UK. As a consequence of Gibraltar’s membership of the European Union together with the UK, the Lighthouse Companies can insure risks directly in any European Economic Area jurisdiction.

Both companies comply with data protection regulations in Gibraltar (per EU directives) and are registered with Gibraltar’s Data Protection Commissioner.
